Role Description The Reporter will work full time on-site in Chennai, covering Playwright User Event activities before, during, and after the conference. Day-to-day responsibilities include attending talks, workshops, and networking sessions; taking detailed notes; conducting interviews with speakers, organizers, and attendees; and producing clear, engaging written reports, articles, and summaries. The role involves coordinating with the event team to identify key stories, live updates, and feature pieces that highlight major announcements, technical insights, and community milestones.
The Reporter will also adapt content for multiple channels such as blog posts, social media updates, and post-event recap materials, while ensuring accuracy, neutrality, and adherence to organizational guidelines.
Qualifications
Strong reporting and journalistic writing skills, including the ability to capture complex technical topics in accessible language.
Experience with event coverage, interviewing,
and note-taking in rapid-paced, live environments.
Ability to collaborate with organizers, speakers, and technical teams, and to work in office in Chennai throughout the event period.
Excellent command of written and spoken English; solid attention to detail, fact-checking, and ethical reporting standards.
Familiarity with software development, testing, or automation concepts (knowledge of Playwright or similar tools is a plus).
Comfort working with digital publishing tools and social media platforms to distribute content across channels.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Ability to work full time, manage deadlines, and adapt quickly to evolving event schedules and editorial priorities.
