Job Summary:

Responsible for developing, editing, and optimizing CNC/VMC programs for machining wheel components. The role involves setting up machining processes, selecting cutting tools and parameters, reducing cycle time, and ensuring dimensional accuracy and production quality.

Key Responsibilities:
Create and modify VMC CNC programs using G-code/M-code and CAM software.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T;, and machining specifications.
Develop machining processes for aluminium/alloy wheel components.
Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
Perform tool offset, work offset, and program corrections at the machine.
Optimize programs to improve cycle time, tool life, productivity, and surface finish.
Support machine setup, prove-out, first-piece inspection, and production trials.
Troubleshoot machining issues such as dimensional variation, tool wear, vibration, burrs, and surface defects.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room, and Engineering teams.
Maintain CNC programs, revision records, tooling data, and process documentation.




Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and production standards.

Required Skills:
Solid knowledge of VMC/CNC machining.
Valuable knowledge of Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi CNC controls.
Proficiency in G-code and M-code programming.
Knowledge of CAM software such as Mastercam, NX CAM, PowerMill, or equivalent.
Ability to understand GD&T; and engineering drawings.
Knowledge of cutting tools and machining parameters.
Problem-solving and process optimization skills.
Knowledge of aluminium machining is an advantage.

Experience: Typically 2–5 years of experience in VMC programming/machining, preferably in automotive or wheel manufacturing.

Education:

Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, or related field.
