Key Responsibilities:
Create and edit CNC/VMC programs using G-code and M-code.
Read and understand mechanical engineering drawings and GD&T.;
Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, speeds, and feeds.
Set tool offsets, work offsets, and machine parameters.
Operate and prove out programs on VMC machines.
Perform first-piece inspection and make program corrections.
Reduce machining time and improve productivity.
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, dimensional, and surface-finish issues.
Work with the Production, Quality, and Tooling teams.
Maintain machining programs and process documentation.
Follow safety and quality procedures.
Skills usually required
VMC/CNC machine operation and programming
Fanuc/Siemens/Mitsubishi controls
G-code & M-code
AutoCAD/SolidWorks or similar CAD knowledge
CAM software such as Mastercam
Drawing reading and GD&T;
Measuring instruments: Vernier, micrometer, height gauge, etc.
Knowledge of cutting tools and machining processes
Typical qualification ITI / Diploma / BE – Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing, depending on the company and experience.
