Responsibilities
Perform welding using processes such as SMAW, TIG, and/or MIG as required.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication instructions.
Execute welding work on marine structures, doors, hatches, pipelines, and assemblies.
Ensure weld quality as per WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
Prepare materials by cleaning, cutting, grinding, and fitting before welding.
Inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, slag inclusion, and rework if required.
Maintain welding equipment, electrodes, and tools in valuable working condition.
Coordinate with fitters and fabrication teams for proper alignment and assembly.
Follow all safety rules and use PPE (helmet, gloves, apron, goggles).
Support quality inspection team during testing and certification.
Maintain daily work output and report progress to supervisors.
