Key Responsibilities 1.

Process

Engineering & Design • Carry out basic engineering: process flow diagrams (PFDs), heat & material balances, equipment sizing.
Perform detailed engineering: equipment datasheets, specifications, operating philosophies, and line sizing.
Develop and review P&IDs; with process safety considerations (PSV sizing, flare load calculations, interlock philosophy).
Perform process simulations using Aspen Plus / Aspen HYSYS for steady-state and energetic cases. 2.

Thermal

Design & Equipment Sizing • Conduct thermal design, rating, and optimization of heat exchangers using HTRI software.
Familiarity with TEMA, API, and ASME standards for thermal and mechanical design integration. 3.

Project

Execution • Provide process input to multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, piping, civil, E&I;, instrumentation).
Support procurement with technical bid evaluations and vendor data review.




Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and design review meetings.
Ensure deliverables meet project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements.
Codes, Standards, and Compliance • Apply knowledge of process design codes: ASME, API, TEMA, IS, IEC, NFPA (as applicable).
Ensure designs meet statutory, client, and industry safety standards.

Technical Skills
Proficiency in Aspen Plus / Aspen HYSYS for process simulations.
Proficiency in HTRI for thermal design of heat exchangers.
Solid grasp of heat & mass transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
Knowledge of process control, instrumentation requirements, and process safety.
Ability to prepare & interpret PFDs, P&IDs;, datasheets, and process narratives.
