Role: Tableau Specialist

Location: Perungudi, Chennai (Hybrid) - 3 Days a week at Office

Shift Time: 10.00AM - 7.00PM IST

About the role: The ideal candidate is a strong Tableau practitioner who can bring structure and rigor to the migration, ensuring business reporting continuity throughout the transition. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-starter who can onboard quickly, deliver independently, and make a meaningful contribution within a defined timeline.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute the migration of existing Power BI dashboards and reports to Tableau, ensuring functional and visual parity
Audit and document current Power BI assets — reports, datasets, and data sources — to create a structured migration plan
Validate migrated dashboards against source reports for data accuracy and consistency
Identify opportunities to enhance and optimize reports during the migration rather than a like-for-like lift-and-shift
Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources
Optimize dashboard performance through efficient data modeling, extract strategies, and Tableau Server/Cloud management
Follow and contribute to Tableau development best practices, standards, and governance within the BI team




Document all deliverables thoroughly — including migration mapping, Tableau standards, and dashboard logic — to ensure seamless handover at the end of the engagement
Support upskilling of internal BI team members on Tableau during the transition period

Required Qualifications:
4–7 years of hands-on experience with Tableau
4–7 years of solid SQL proficiency – writing complex queries, joins, subqueries, CTEs, window functions
Proven experience building production-grade dashboards consumed by senior stakeholders
Solid understanding of data visualization principles and storytelling with data
Experience working with relational databases and cloud data warehouses
Ability to ramp up quickly with minimal hand holding in a fast-paced environment
Robust communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Prior contract or project-based work experience is a plus

Valuable to Have:
Familiarity with Power BI (DAX, Power Query) and experience in BI tool migration projects is a plus
Experience with Tableau Prep for data preparation and blending
Tableau Desktop Specialist or Tableau Certified Data Analyst certification
