Project Role Description

Design, develop, implement, and support Service Now GRC and/or Security Operations solutions aligned with business, security, risk, and compliance requirements. Define and implement security and compliance controls, configure Service Now applications and workflows, integrate third-party security platforms, and support the transition to managed security and compliance operations.

Experience

5–12 years of overall IT experience, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Service Now GRC, Service Now Sec Ops, or related GRC/Security platforms.

Summary

Experienced Service Now GRC/Sec Ops Consultant or Developer with strong expertise in designing, implementing, customizing, and integrating Service Now GRC and/or Security Operations solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience translating business, risk, security, and compliance requirements into scalable technical solutions. The candidate should be capable of leading project delivery, managing stakeholders, mentoring team members, and ensuring successful implementation of secure and compliant Service Now solutions.

Experience with other GRC platforms such as RSA Archer, Metric Stream, or BWise is an added advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end design, development, configuration, customization, testing, and deployment of Service Now GRC and/or Sec Ops solutions.
- Work closely with business, security, risk, compliance, and IT stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Configure and implement GRC capabilities including Risk Management, Compliance, Policy & Compliance, Audit Management,



Vendor Risk Management, and related workflows, as applicable.
- Support Service Now Sec Ops capabilities such as Security Incident Response, Vulnerability Response, Security Operations integrations, and security case management, as applicable.
- Design and implement security, risk, and compliance controls aligned with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop workflows, business rules, client scripts, script includes, UI policies, data policies, notifications, and other Service Now configurations.
- Design and implement integrations between Service Now and third-party security, risk, compliance, and enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain integrations using REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, Scripted REST APIs, and other web services.
- Ensure data integrity, synchronization, error handling, and monitoring across integrated platforms.
- Lead technical discussions with clients and provide recommendations on Service Now architecture, configuration, customization, and best practices.
- Participate in project planning, estimation, technical solutioning, and delivery activities.
- Support pre-sales activities, including effort estimation, solution design, technical presentations, and proposal preparation.
- Lead and mentor Service Now development/consulting teams and support knowledge transfer.
- Collaborate with project managers and security leadership to define delivery plans, priorities, resource requirements, and timelines.
- Review team deliverables and ensure adherence to Service Now development standards, security standards, and governance processes.
- Support Service Now version upgrades, patching, enhancements, and platform maintenance.
- Configure and maintain Knowledge Bases and Knowledge Articles.
- Provide guidance on Service Portal page design and widget configuration, where applicable.




- Troubleshoot application, integration, workflow, and scripting issues and provide root-cause analysis.
- Ensure solutions follow Service Now best practices, SDLC processes, security standards, and governance requirements.
- Translate complex business problems into clear software, functional, and technical requirements.

Skilled & Technical Skills

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in GRC, Service Now GRC, Service Now Sec Ops, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, or related platforms.
- Strong hands-on experience with the Service Now platform and its development/configuration capabilities.
- Experience with Service Now GRC and/or Sec Ops modules and associated workflows.
- Strong knowledge of Service Now scripting, including:
- Business Rules
- Script Includes
- Client Scripts
- UI Policies
- Data Policies
- Notifications
- Workflows/Flow Designer
- Scripted REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with REST/SOAP integrations and Web Services.
- Experience integrating Service Now with third-party security, GRC, IT, and enterprise applications.
- Understanding of Service Now application development, configuration, customization, and deployment practices.
- Good understanding of Service Now upgrades, version management, patches, and release management.
- Knowledge of Service Now Service Portal, page design, and widget configuration is desirable.
- Experience with Knowledge Base and Knowledge Article configuration.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and IT service management processes.
- Knowledge of Java Script is required; knowledge of other scripting/programming languages is an advantage.
- Experience with other GRC platforms such as RSA Archer, Metric Stream, or BWise is a plus.
- Service Now certifications such as CSA, CIS-GRC, CIS-SIR, CIS-VR, or relevant Service Now certifications are preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and customer-facing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong command of English.
