Job Summary
/n
We are seeking a Senior CAD Administrator with 5-6 years of relevant experience to administer and support both the Solid Works CAD application environment and Solid Works PDM. The role combines hands-on Solid Works CAD application administration and engineering-user support with Solid Works PDM administration and support.
The administrator will ensure secure CAD
/n
performance, controlled engineering data, consistent standards, reliable integrations, and
/n
responsive support for engineering teams.

/n
Installation/configuration, licenses, templates/libraries, performance, crashes, assemblies, references, workstation and user support Solid Works PDM Administration &
/n
Support Vaults, workflows, permissions, data cards, lifecycle/revisions, upgrades, migration, performance and PDM user support
/n
Key Responsibilities
/n
A. Solid Works CAD Administration & Support
/n
/n
- Administer Solid Works, Draft Sight, and eDrawings environments including installation,
/n
- configuration, version rollout, patching, and license management.
/n
- Provide L2/L3 support for Solid Works issues including application launch failures, crashes, slow performance, graphics/display issues, large assembly performance,
/n
- rebuild errors, missing/broken references, open/save problems, add-in issues, printing/export, and license availability.
/n
- Troubleshoot whether an issue is caused by Solid Works settings, user profile, CAD model/data, workstation hardware/graphics, network, license server, PDM integration, or server-side services.
/n
- Manage Solid Works templates, sheet formats, design libraries, Toolbox/standard parts, routing standards, macros, and controlled CAD settings.
/n
- Support CAD workstation optimization and recommend suitable hardware specifications for engineering workloads.
/n
- Support engineers using Solid Works Routing (Piping, Electrical, or Tubing) where applicable.
/n
- Document recurring CAD issues and fixes, prepare user guides, and train users on correct CAD practices and performance best practices.
/n
/n
B. Solid Works PDM Administration & Support
/n
/n
- Administer Solid Works PDM Professional/Standard environments, including vaults, users/groups, permissions, workflows, lifecycle states, transitions, and data cards.
/n
- Manage revision control, metadata, folder structures, document controls, and engineering release processes in PDM.
/n
- Provide L2/L3 support for PDM user issues including login/access, check-in/check-out, transitions, permissions, file visibility, references, metadata/data cards, and vault performance.
/n
- Support PDM server/client upgrades, version compatibility, patching, testing, rollout, and rollback planning.
/n
- Participate in PDM implementation, data cleanup, migration, metadata mapping, reference validation, and controlled cutover activities.
/n
- Monitor PDM performance and coordinate with database, network, infrastructure, and vendor teams when issues cross system boundaries.
/n
- Maintain PDM technical documentation, support procedures, knowledge articles, and change records.
/n
- Shared Responsibilities
/n
- Manage incidents, service requests, problems, and changes through ITSM processes and tools.
/n
- Coordinate testing and user acceptance before production CAD/PDM changes.
/n
- Work with engineering, IT, global locations, and external partners to resolve crosssystem issues.
/n
- Identify recurring problems and implement permanent improvements to reliability and user productivity.
/n
- Required Qualifications
/n
- Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering IT, or a related discipline.
/n
- Experience: 5-6 years of relevant experience with hands-on administration/support of Solid Works and Solid Works PDM. Candidates should demonstrate meaningful experience in both areas, not only design or end-user usage.
/n

Required Technical Skills
/n
/n
- • Solid Works administration and end-user troubleshooting: installation, configuration, licenses, templates/libraries, performance, crashes, large assemblies, references, and workstation issues.
/n
- Solid Works PDM administration: vaults, workflows, permissions, data cards, lifecycle/revisions and production support.
/n
- Strong practical understanding of Solid Works design/drafting and how CAD data behaves in a managed PDM setting.
/n
- Experience with upgrades, deployments, implementation and/or data migration.
/n
- Knowledge of CAD workstation hardware, graphics considerations, network dependencies and application performance troubleshooting.
/n
- Structured incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, documentation and user communication.
/n
- Preferred Skills
/n
- Solid Works Routing experience.
/n
- API, macros, scripting or automation exposure.
/n
- Service Now, Jira, or other ITSM tool experience.
/n
- Multi-site/global PDM implementation exposure.
/n
- Experience supporting manufacturing engineering teams.
/n
/n

- Stable Solid Works and PDM availability with timely user support.

- Reduced repeat incidents through root-cause fixes and CAD/PDM standardization.
