Junior Software Engineer

Role Overview

As a Junior Software Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the development and deployment of the core evaluation engine module. Working under the guidance of Senior Architects, you will help build a highly resilient, event-driven ecosystem that ingests massive streams of telemetry and network events, evaluates them against complex business policies, and routes candidate records to downstream operational ticketing tools. This is a hands-on coding role requiring solid cloud-native development skills and a foundational understanding of AWS to deploy microservices containerized on AWS EKS alongside a distributed messaging and storage layer.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain high-throughput, configuration-driven ingestion jobs that read normalized event streams from OpenSearch and MSK (Kafka).

- Implement data access layers utilizing Amazon DynamoDB to interact with energetic ingestion metadata

- Build, test, and deploy microservices for the primary evaluation module on AWS EKS (Kubernetes) to execute complex rule sets and policy engines.

- Write code that supports zero-downtime, config-driven strategy patterns,



ensuring rule parameters and thresholds can change dynamically.

- Write efficient queries and interact with metadata storage architectures leveraging a combination of DynamoDB and Amazon DocumentDB for rapid evaluation querying.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 13 years of software engineering and cloud infrastructure experience. An AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate credential is required.

- Hands-on experience building, testing, and deploying containerized microservices using Docker and Kubernetes (AWS EKS experience preferred).

- Foundational background or strong academic understanding of event-driven programming, message queues, and streaming technologies like Kafka (MSK) and Amazon SQS.

- Practical experience interacting with NoSQL databases (Amazon DynamoDB, DocumentDB) and cloud storage solutions (Amazon S3).

- Eagerness to learn complex system architectures, ability to follow architectural block diagrams, and strong teamwork skills to deliver features within cross-functional engineering squads.Role & responsibilities
