We are seeking a Python FastAPI Developer to build and maintain the backend for a manufacturing quality analytics platform. The role involves developing scalable REST APIs using Python/FastAPI, integrating with curated data marts, implementing data validation and transformation, and ensuring performance, security, reliability, and observability. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, API Gateway, real-time/data-intensive applications, and enterprise API design is highly desirable. This is a specialist backend role working closely with Data Engineering, React, and AI/ML teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Develop scalable REST APIs using Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic, with robust validation, filtering, pagination, and error handling.
2. Design and optimize parameterized SQL queries, including complex joins, aggregations, CTEs,



and large datasets.
3. Optimize API performance using async/parallel processing, caching, connection pooling, and concurrency.
4. Implement data transformations, aggregations, and business rules with appropriate handling of missing or unavailable data.
5. Implement authentication, authorization, SSO/JWT, entitlement, and plant-level access controls.
6. Establish production logging, metrics, tracing, health checks, and monitoring using tools such as OpenTelemetry.
7. Work closely with Data Engineering, React, and AI/ML teams to deliver reliable and high-performing backend services.
