Job Summary
As a Data Scientist at GeoIQ you'll design and build the analytical models that underpin our platform - catchment scoring, demand estimation, network gap analysis, and competitive benchmarking. You'll work closely with clients and product to turn real-world business questions into rigorous, reproducible models.
Responsibilities
- Familiarity with geospatial libraries - H3, Shapely, PostGIS
- Experience with retail site selection, trade area analysis, or demand forecasting
- Exposure to mobility data (GPS traces, footfall counts)
- 2+ years in a data science or analytics role
- Strong Python - Pandas, GeoPandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib/seaborn
- Solid understanding of statistical modelling and spatial analysis
- Experience working with large real-world datasets - messy data, missing values, outliers
- Ability to communicate model results clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Build spatial analytics models - demand estimation, catchment scoring, competitive analysis
- Develop and maintain client-facing model outputs and reports
- Conduct exploratory analysis on mobility, POI, and demographic datasets to surface new signals
- Collaborate with engineering to productionise models and integrate into the GeoIQ platform
- Support client onboarding by customising models to brand-specific inputs and benchmarks
- Write explicit technical documentation for models and methodology
