As a Software Developer at GeoIQ you'll contribute to the platform that thousands of expansion planners, analysts, and data teams rely on. You'll work across the stack - backend APIs, data pipelines, and React dashboards - shipping features that directly shape how clients experience location intelligence.

Responsibilities

- Build and maintain backend APIs in Node.js or Python (FastAPI)
- Develop frontend features in React with a focus on map and data-visualisation components
- Design and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and queries for geospatial workloads
- Write clean, tested, and well-documented code with a strong bias toward simplicity
- Participate in code review, architecture discussions, and production incident response
- Collaborate with data science to expose model outputs via platform APIs

Requirements





- Experience with geospatial libraries (PostGIS, Turf.js, Mapbox GL)
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and containerisation (Docker, K8s)
- Prior work on data-heavy dashboards or map-based UIs
- 2+ years in a full-stack or backend software engineering role
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one backend language (Node.js, Python, Go)
- Experience with React and up-to-date frontend tooling (Vite, Webpack)
- Solid PostgreSQL knowledge - schema design, indexing, query optimisation
- Familiarity with REST API design and async patterns
