Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer – Plant & Equipment to manage the planning, operation, maintenance, deployment, and performance of construction plant and mechanical equipment across high-rise residential and commercial projects. The candidate should have robust hands-on experience in construction equipment, machinery maintenance, equipment utilization, vendor coordination, and site operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and supervise construction plant, machinery, and mechanical equipment deployed at project sites.
- Plan equipment requirements based on project schedules, construction activities, and site requirements.
- Ensure proper installation, commissioning, operation, preventive maintenance, and breakdown maintenance of equipment.
- Monitor equipment availability, utilization, productivity, and downtime.
- Maintain equipment logs, service records, maintenance schedules, and breakdown reports.
- Coordinate with project, civil, MEP, safety, and planning teams for effective deployment of machinery.
- Identify equipment requirements for high-rise construction activities, including lifting, concreting, material handling, and other site operations.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors, OEMs, rental agencies, and service providers for maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor equipment performance and recommend repair, replacement, hiring, or purchase based on cost-effectiveness.




- Ensure availability of critical spare parts, consumables, lubricants, and maintenance tools.
- Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and ensure minimum equipment downtime.
- Monitor equipment operating costs, fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, and rental costs.
- Verify equipment condition before deployment and after demobilization.
- Ensure all equipment is operated by trained and authorized personnel.
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, statutory requirements, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct regular inspection of equipment and identify potential mechanical and operational hazards.
- Maintain proper documentation related to equipment maintenance, inspection, certification, and fitness.
- Support project teams in optimizing equipment utilization and productivity.
- Prepare periodic MIS reports related to equipment availability, utilization, downtime, maintenance, and cost.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for plant and equipment requirements.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of construction plant & equipment and mechanical systems.
- Good understanding of preventive and breakdown maintenance.

- Knowledge of equipment safety and statutory compliance.
- Ability to read equipment manuals, technical specifications, and maintenance documents.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and equipment MIS/reporting.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently at construction project sites.

Qualification

Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.

Experience Requirements

- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Plant & Equipment / Construction Equipment / Mechanical Maintenance.
- Mandatory experience in real estate / construction projects.
- Exposure to high-rise residential and commercial projects is preferred.
- Candidates with experience in large-scale construction projects involving tower cranes, hoists, concrete equipment, DG sets, and other heavy construction machinery will be preferred.
