Business Analyst

2. JOB RELATIONSHIPS

The job holder is attached to the unit under the Application team & reports to the head

of the team.

3. JOB FUNCTIONS

This position is responsible for the gathering of requirements, process modeling and

preparation of the requirement specifications. The jobholder will play the role of the

communicator, bridge the gap between stakeholders, i.e. end-users, the solution team,

vendor etc.

The job holder will also be responsible for preparation of test scenarios and integrated

testing before user acceptance testing.

Additional responsibilities may include timeline planning and/or vendor management.

4. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

4.1 Impact and contribution

Work to achieve objectives and deliver results with an operational focus.

- Efficiently manage stakeholders.
- Prepare user requirement specifications for the enhancements / project
- Prepare test plans, perform readiness & integration testing on the application,

manage/monitor UAT.

- Carry out investigation of user reported issues, formulate solutions & sharing

with the team.

4.2 Communication

Explain facts, practices, and policies to others within the department.

- Facilitate meetings, present findings with timely updates the point of contact

between stakeholders with confidence

Assess new ideas for feasibility

- Develop an understanding of the current processes & identify points that can

be streamlined

4.4 Knowledge

Apply broad knowledge of one job area or broad knowledge of several related job areas.

- Strong knowledge of SDLC framework
- Knowledge of Agile & Waterfall methodologies
- Preferred domain specialists in the respective support areas, e.g. Processing,

Claims, Insurance, etc.

5. NATURE AND SCOPE

The job holder is supervised by the head of the Application team & is expected to be

proactive in communication, keen to learn, adaptable & proficient in problem solving.

6. COMPETENCIES

a. Minimal 3 years of working experience as IT Business Analyst

b. Possess working experience in Insurance/Financial sector.

c. Good to have experience in project management and vendor management

d. Robust knowledge and experience in SDLC, as well as Waterfall & Agile

methodologies

e. Experience in using Java and other internet technologies will be advantageous.

f. Good analytical and problem skills.

g. Productive - able to work independently with minimal supervision ensuring work

assigned is completed with quality and on time

h. Reliable, adaptable, good team player & positive.
