Required skills:
- Ability to apply knowledge of current tax / social security or any other payroll related legislation and its implications for the payroll function
- Ability to do desktop research on technical topics
- Ability to use Microsoft office for collecting, assimilating and analyzing data
- Should be people’s person
- Should be persistent and persuasive
- Understanding the technical subject and do desktop research, effective communication and presentation skills
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, review and update existing / new HR and payroll policies and procedures
- Manage the ongoing review of Certificate of Coverage tracker to ensure timely social security payments and meet compliance requirements
- Review of compensation models for cost optimization
- Conduct payroll compliance audits for local and expat payroll to identify gaps in the process followed from tax and social security perspective. Also, ensure that the gaps are fixed by way of a process
- Preparation of risk mitigation plan for payroll related compliances for various countries
- Preparation of report with respect to payment and reporting compliances of statutory dues (tax, social security, pension, payroll tax, etc) on a timely basis
- Preparation of tax and social security grid for various countries
- Facilitate remediations of audit findings by research to make course corrections and prevent future violations
- Sharing key payroll related updates with respect to changes in tax, social security, minimum wages, indexation, leave rules, etc within the team
- Ability to do desktop research on payroll related areas with respect to changes in tax, social security, minimum wages, indexation, leave rules, etc
- Address queries raised by India employees with respect to the notice received from the Indian tax authorities
- Handling matters with respect to claim of foreign tax credit on salary income in India
