Overview

We're looking for a freelance copyeditor to polish digital content — eBooks, articles, and online publications — for grammar, consistency, and e-reader readiness before publication.

Responsibilities

- Edit for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style consistency (per house/client style sheet)
- Fact-check names, dates, and figures
- Check formatting, TOC, hyperlinks, and footnotes render correctly across EPUB/MOBI/PDF
- Flag layout or flow issues on Kindle/tablet/e-reader previews
- Deliver clean, tracked-changes files within agreed deadlines
- Coordinate with authors/production team for revisions

Requirements

- 2+ years copyediting experience (digital publishing preferred)
- Solid grammar and English proficiency
- Familiarity with EPUB/eBook workflows
- Reliable, deadline-driven, detail-oriented

Tools

- MS Word (Track Changes), Google Docs
- Grammarly / PerfectIt
- Calibre / Sigil (EPUB check)
- Chicago Manual of Style / AP Style
