- Carry out removal, repair, overhaul, modification and installation of mechanical equipment onboard vessels.
- Dismantle and reassemble pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, winches and other mechanical equipment.
- Carry out installation and replacement of bearings, seals, couplings, bushes, gaskets and other mechanical parts.
- Take accurate onboard measurements and check equipment dimensions before installation.
- Carry out proper alignment of pumps, motors, gearboxes, shafts and couplings.
- Install and align pumps, motors, deck machinery and other mechanical equipment.
- Check machinery foundations, mounting arrangements, holding-down bolts and supports before installation.
- Carry out removal and installation of propeller shafts, couplings, bearings and related components as required.
- Inspect dismantled components for wear, damage, corrosion and abnormal condition and report findings to the supervisor.
- Carry out cleaning, greasing, lubrication and preparation of mechanical components before reassembly.
- Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges,



feeler gauges and spirit levels.
- Read basic mechanical drawings, equipment manuals and follow supervisor's instructions.
- Assist with machinery modification and new equipment installation during vessel repair and refit.
- Coordinate with welders, pipe fitters, electricians and other trades during machinery installation.
- Carry out tightening and torqueing of bolts, couplings and mechanical connections as required.
- Assist with testing, commissioning and trial operation of repaired or newly installed machinery.
- Rectify alignment, vibration, leakage or other mechanical issues identified during inspection and testing.
- Follow shipyard safety procedures, permit requirements and use proper PPE.
- Use lifting tools, chain blocks and other equipment safely during dismantling and installation.
- Maintain valuable workmanship, housekeeping and proper care of tools and equipment.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹38,000.00 per month
