RALP is a Chennai-based B2B procurement and sourcing solutions company helping businesses simplify the way they purchase products and operational requirements.
We work with companies across IT, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Drones & Electronics, Construction, Facility Management, Engineering, and Industrial Operations, supporting them with sourcing and procurement requirements ranging from IT hardware and office infrastructure to industrial tools, safety equipment, components, consumables, and business essentials.
Instead of clients managing multiple vendors for every requirement, RALP acts as an extended procurement partner, helping streamline sourcing, vendor coordination, quotations, documentation, and delivery.
As we continue expanding our client base, we are looking for an energetic and commercially minded Business Development Executive Intern to join our growing team.
About the Role
This is not a traditional "make calls and sell" internship.
You will get practical exposure to how B2B sales, corporate procurement, lead generation, client communication, and business development actually work.
You will work closely with the senior team to identify potential companies, understand their business requirements, reach the right decision-makers, arrange meetings, and help move prospects through the sales pipeline.
The role is particularly suitable for someone who wants to build a career in B2B Sales, Business Development, Corporate Procurement, or Account Management.
High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time Business Development Executive position based on performance, skills, and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation & Market Research
- Research companies across target industries and identify potential business opportunities.
- Identify companies that may require procurement and sourcing support.
- Build and maintain a qualified prospect database.
- Research decision-makers such as Founders, CEOs, Purchase Managers, Procurement Heads, Admin Heads, Facility Managers, Operations Managers, and HR/Admin teams.
2. Outbound Business Development
- Conduct qualified outbound calls to prospective clients.
- Initiate conversations through email, LinkedIn, and other professional channels.
- Introduce RALP's procurement solutions based on the prospect's business requirements.
- Understand the prospect's current procurement challenges and identify potential areas where RALP can assist.
- Follow up consistently with prospects and maintain a structured sales pipeline.
3. Meeting & Client Engagement
- Schedule introductory meetings with prospective clients.
- Coordinate with senior team members for client meetings and presentations.
- Assist in preparing meeting briefs, company information, proposals,
and presentations.
- Maintain professional communication throughout the sales cycle.
4. Requirement & Quotation Support
- Understand and document customer requirements accurately.
- Coordinate internally to obtain product availability, pricing, lead time, and other commercial information.
- Assist in preparing quotations and proposals.
- Follow up on quotations and identify opportunities for conversion.
5. CRM & Sales Tracking
- Maintain accurate lead and prospect information in the CRM.
- Record calls, meetings, follow-ups, requirements, and opportunity status.
- Maintain daily/weekly sales activity reports.
- Ensure no qualified lead is lost due to missed follow-ups.
6. Market & Business Development
- Identify new industries, companies, and market segments where RALP can expand.
- Monitor emerging companies, startups, manufacturers, technology companies, and growing businesses.
- Study potential client requirements and procurement patterns.
- Contribute ideas for improving RALP's lead-generation and client-acquisition process.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is curious, confident, commercially aware, and willing to learn.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Management, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable speaking with business professionals over the phone.
- Good research and internet-search skills.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office / Google Workspace.
- Ability to communicate professionally through email and LinkedIn.
- Willingness to work with targets and follow a structured sales process.
- Strong follow-up discipline and attention to detail.
Preferred
- MBA / PGDM in Marketing or Sales, pursuing or completed.
- Internship or prior exposure to sales, telecalling, business development, or customer interaction.
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, CRM platforms, lead-generation tools, and spreadsheets.
- Interest in B2B sales, procurement, technology, manufacturing, or industrial products.
Freshers Are Welcome
Fresh graduates with the right attitude, communication skills, curiosity, and willingness to build a career in B2B business development are encouraged to apply.
We value ability and consistency over years of experience.
What You Will Learn
At RALP, you will not be limited to a single repetitive sales activity.
You will gain practical exposure to:
- B2B lead generation
- Corporate sales
- Procurement & sourcing processes
- Prospect research
- Decision-maker identification
- Cold calling & professional outreach
- LinkedIn prospecting
- Email communication
- Client requirement gathering
- Quotation & proposal processes
- CRM management
- Sales pipeline management

You will also gain exposure to real procurement requirements across IT, manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, electronics, safety, facility management, construction, and other business sectors.
Performance & Career Growth
We believe an internship should be more than a certificate.
Interns who demonstrate strong performance, communication, ownership, and consistency may have the opportunity to progress into a full-time Business Development Executive role with RALP.
Potential Growth Path
BDE Intern → Business Development Executive → Senior BDE → Account / Business Development Manager
Growth will be based on performance, capability, ownership, and business requirements.
What Makes This Opportunity Different?
You will get exposure to the complete journey:
Research → Lead Generation → First Contact → Qualification → Meeting → Requirement → Quotation → Follow-up → Conversion
Rather than learning sales only from theory, you will participate in actual B2B business development activities and understand how companies identify vendors, evaluate requirements, and make procurement decisions.
Who Will Fit This Role?
This role could be a strong fit if you:
- Enjoy talking to people and building professional relationships.
- Are comfortable making outbound calls.
- Like discovering new companies and business opportunities.
- Can handle rejection without losing momentum.
- Prefer a fast-moving work environment.
