Product Development & Merchandising Executive

About the Role

We are a garment and textile manufacturing/export company looking for a proactive and hands-on Product Development & Merchandising Executive to work directly with management.

The role will involve working across fashion garments, pet/textile products, and recent technical-textile product development.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate product development from concept/reference to finished sample
- Source fabrics, trims, and other raw materials
- Coordinate with tailors, pattern masters, fabric suppliers, and outside vendors
- Follow up on sampling and ensure deadlines are met
- Assist with costing, BOMs, and product-development sheets
- Handle Aleta Couture sampling and production follow-ups
- Coordinate development of pet beds, pillows, and other sewn/textile products
- Research new technical textiles, suppliers, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Develop new vendors and obtain samples and quotations
- Coordinate buyer samples, couriers, and dispatches
- Maintain Excel/Google Sheets trackers, costing sheets, and vendor records




- Provide clear daily progress updates to management

Requirements

- 1–3 years' experience in garment/textile merchandising, product development, sourcing, or an export house
- Basic understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and sampling
- Good vendor sourcing and follow-up skills
- Comfortable using Excel/Google Sheets
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Willing to visit suppliers/vendors when required
- Comfortable learning and developing unfamiliar textile products
- Must be based in or able to commute to Gurugram

Most Important

This is not a desk-only merchandising role.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, resourceful, hands-on, and takes ownership of work.

The candidate should be comfortable taking a product through the complete development cycle:

Idea/Reference → Material Sourcing → Vendor Development → Sampling → Costing → Finished Sample

We value execution, strong follow-up, problem-solving ability, and ownership more than a senior designation.
