Position: Consultant Gastroenterologist

Job Summary

The Consultant Gastroenterologist will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic, and related digestive system disorders. The consultant will provide high-quality patient care through outpatient consultations, inpatient management, diagnostic procedures, and endoscopic services as per expertise.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct outpatient consultations and evaluate patients with gastrointestinal disorders.
- Diagnose and manage diseases of the stomach, intestine, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and digestive system.
- Manage inpatient gastroenterology cases and provide appropriate treatment plans.
- Perform or supervise upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and other endoscopic procedures as per qualification and expertise.
- Manage GI emergencies such as gastrointestinal bleeding and acute abdominal conditions.
- Interpret relevant laboratory, imaging, endoscopy, and other diagnostic reports.
- Provide appropriate medical and procedural treatment.
- Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, procedures, and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate patient records, investigation reports, procedure notes, and discharge summaries.
- Coordinate with surgeons, physicians,



radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists when required.
- Follow hospital clinical protocols, infection-control practices, patient-safety standards, and NABH requirements.
- Participate in clinical meetings, audits, and quality-improvement activities.
- Ensure proper informed consent and documentation before procedures.

Qualification

- MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine and DM/DNB in Gastroenterology, or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Valid medical registration.
- Relevant experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy preferred.

Pay: ₹1,898,998.74 - ₹3,663,317.04 per year
