About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team, supporting the preparation and analysis of financial documentation for businesses being presented for sale. This role is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping fundamentals, a good eye for financial trends, and the ability to translate raw financial data into explicit, professional reports.

Key Responsibilities

- Reconcile bank statements and accurately review financial transactions
- Prepare draft Profit & Loss statements based on available financial records
- Review and analyse business financial documentation, including sales reports, rosters, bank statements, P&L; statements, and other relevant documents
- Prepare Information Memorandums (IMs) for businesses being presented for sale
- Analyse the financial performance of businesses and identify key financial trends, strengths, and areas requiring further review
- Conduct market research and comparisons based on financial performance, industry, location, and other relevant business factors
- Ensure financial information is accurately interpreted, analysed, and presented in a clear and professional manner

Skills & Requirements

- Strong bookkeeping/accounting knowledge with a sound understanding of financial statements




- Good knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and relevant Australian accounting principles (preferred)
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyse P&Ls;, bank statements, sales reports, and payroll/roster information
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of business valuation and financial analysis is an advantage
- Strong market research and business comparison skills
- Proficient in Excel
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple businesses/files, and meet deadlines
