Key Responsibilities

- Operational Management: Oversee daily cardiac surgical schedules, patient flow, and resource allocation to optimize theatre usage.
- Clinical Supervision: Supervise cardiac OT nurses and technicians, providing training on advanced surgical techniques and specialized equipment.
- Infection Control: Enforce strict aseptic techniques and sterilization protocols (CSSD coordination) to ensure maximum safety in a high-risk environment.
- Equipment Management: Maintain and check cardiothoracic surgical instruments, perfusion machines, and monitoring technology.
- Clinical Support: Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during high-risk cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures.
- Documentation: Oversee maintenance of surgery registers, checklists, and patient records. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8]

Qualifications and Skills

- Education: BSc Nursing or GNM from a recognized institution, with valid registration.
- Experience: Several years of specialized experience in cardiac or cardiothoracic operation theatres, often with 10+ years for senior roles.
- Skills: Robust leadership, advanced knowledge of cardiac surgery techniques, emergency response capability, and sterile protocol enforcement
