Position Summary

We are looking for a practicing Advocate to independently manage the company's litigation and contract portfolio. The role involves representing the company before courts and tribunals, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, and providing legal advice on labour and employment matters.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation

- Independently appear, argue, and represent the company before civil courts, criminal courts, tribunals, labour courts, and other legal forums.
- Handle Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act matters end-to-end.
- Track hearings, court orders, litigation expenses, and maintain litigation MIS reports.
- Maintain litigation trackers, monitor case status, next hearing dates, and legal risk exposure.

Drafting & Contracts

- Draft complaints, plaints, written statements, replies, rejoinders, affidavits, legal notices, and other pleadings.
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including:
- NDAs
- Vendor Agreements
- Consultancy & Service Agreements
- Leave & License Agreements
- Lease Deeds
- MoUs
- SLAs
- Ancillary Commercial Agreements





- Maintain contract repositories with renewal and expiry tracking.

Labour & Employment

- Advise on labour and employment law matters.
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour legislation.
- Represent the company before labour authorities and labour courts, including conciliation and adjudication proceedings.

Key Skills & Requirements

- Valid Bar Council enrollment (Sanad) with a Certificate of Practice.
- Ability to independently appear and argue matters before courts.
- Strong experience handling Section 138 NI Act matters independently.
- Knowledge of labour and employment laws.
- Expertise in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
- Solid pleading and drafting skills.
- Litigation experience from a law firm or independent practice.
- Prior in-house legal department experience.
- Knowledge of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

Qualifications

- LL.B. / B.A. LL.B. from a recognized university.
- LL.M. is an added advantage.
- Mandatory Bar Council enrollment (Sanad).
- 3–6 years of post-enrollment experience combining litigation and in-house legal work.
