Job Summary

The Instrumentation Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and control systems used in industrial plant operations. The technician will ensure that all instruments and control equipment operate safely, accurately, and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of instrumentation systems.
- Install, inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain field instruments.
- Troubleshoot and repair instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
- Maintain control valves, actuators, positioners, switches, gauges, and related equipment.
- Perform calibration of instruments as per required standards and procedures.
- Check instrument wiring, junction boxes, cable connections, and termination.
- Troubleshoot 4–20 mA, pneumatic, and other instrument signals.
- Assist in maintenance and troubleshooting of PLC, DCS, SCADA, and control systems.
- Identify instrument faults and take corrective action to minimize plant downtime.
- Maintain proper records of calibration, maintenance, breakdowns, and inspections.
- Follow preventive maintenance schedules and complete assigned work within the required time.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and operations teams during maintenance activities.
- Follow all plant safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and PPE requirements.




- Ensure proper housekeeping and safe working practices at the work site.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of industrial instrumentation and control systems.
- Practical knowledge of calibration and troubleshooting of field instruments.
- Knowledge of pressure, temperature, flow, and level measurement instruments.
- Ability to read P&ID;, instrument drawings, loop diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Basic knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of control valves and pneumatic instrumentation.
- Ability to use standard electrical/instrumentation testing and calibration tools.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, or a related technical trade.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant industrial/plant maintenance experience preferred.

Safety Responsibilities

- Strictly follow plant safety rules and procedures.
- Use appropriate PPE while carrying out maintenance activities.
- Follow permit-to-work, isolation, LOTO, and other applicable safety procedures.
- Immediately report unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and incidents to the concerned supervisor.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
