- Perform nuclear medicine procedures such as administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating imaging equipment (e.g., gamma cameras), and acquiring images for diagnostic purposes.
- Prepare and calibrate radiopharmaceuticals according to prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during nuclear medicine procedures, explaining the process to patients and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Monitor patients during and after procedures to assess adverse reactions and ensure proper radiation exposure levels.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including imaging data, radiopharmaceutical administration details, and patient history.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to interpret imaging results and provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Oversee radiation safety protocols within the facility,
including monitoring radiation exposure levels, implementing safety procedures, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Train and educate staff members on radiation safety practices, including proper handling of radioactive materials and equipment.
- Perform routine quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
- Stay updated on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and radiation safety practices through continuing education and professional development activities.
