Key Roles & Responsibilities – General Manager | Transport Operations

1. Transport Operations Management

- Manage overall transport operations and ensure smooth daily operations.
- Plan and monitor vehicle deployment, routes, trips, and schedules.
- Ensure timely and productive transportation services.

2. Fleet Management

- Monitor vehicle availability, utilisation, mileage, and performance.
- Ensure preventive maintenance and timely repair of vehicles.
- Control vehicle downtime, fuel consumption, and operating costs.

3. Driver & Team Management

- Lead and manage drivers, supervisors, and transport staff.
- Monitor driver performance, attendance, discipline, and productivity.
- Ensure proper training on safety, driving standards, and company procedures.

4. Cost & Profitability Management

- Control fuel, maintenance, manpower, and other transport-related expenses.
- Monitor revenue, operating costs, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.

5. Safety & Compliance





- Ensure compliance with transport regulations, permits, insurance, fitness, and statutory requirements.
- Implement road safety and vehicle safety standards.
- Monitor accidents, violations, and corrective actions.

6. Performance & Business Development

- Monitor key transport KPIs such as vehicle utilisation, on-time performance, fuel efficiency, and cost per trip.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports for management.
- Develop strategies to improve service quality, customer satisfaction, and overall transport business growth.
