Company Overview
We are an interior fit-out company with an in-house manufacturing facility, specializing in the production, delivery, and installation of customized interior solutions. We are seeking an experienced *Logistics Manager* to manage the complete logistics function, from factory dispatch to project-site delivery.
Job Purpose
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all logistics activities, including material movement, warehouse operations, transportation, factory dispatches, site deliveries, and the return of unused materials and equipment. The role requires close coordination with production, procurement, project management, site teams, suppliers, drivers, and clients to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily logistics operations for factory, warehouse, and project sites.
- Coordinate the movement of raw materials, finished products, furniture, fixtures, equipment, tools, and consumables.
- Prepare delivery schedules in coordination with the production, project, and installation teams.
- Ensure finished products are properly packed, labelled, protected, and dispatched on time.
- Arrange vehicles, drivers, loading teams, and transportation requirements.
- Coordinate deliveries to multiple project sites and ensure materials arrive safely and according to schedule.
- Monitor vehicle movements and delivery status, providing regular updates to project and management teams.
- Prepare delivery notes, dispatch documents, material transfer records, and receiving documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing materials.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage, handling, and stock movement.
- Ensure that materials delivered to sites are checked and acknowledged by the site team.
- Manage the return of unused materials, damaged items, tools, and equipment from project sites.
- Coordinate with suppliers and freight companies for incoming deliveries and shipments.
- Monitor transportation costs, fuel expenses, vehicle utilization, and logistics budgets.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and applicable transportation regulations.
- Inspect and monitor the condition of company vehicles and coordinate servicing and repairs.
- Resolve delivery delays, shortages, damages, and other logistics-related issues promptly.
- Maintain proper documentation for damaged, missing, or rejected materials.
- Support project teams in planning deliveries according to site access restrictions, lifting requirements, and installation schedules.
- Supervise logistics staff, drivers, helpers, and loading/unloading teams.
- Prepare regular logistics reports covering deliveries, delays, costs, vehicle usage, and operational issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize material damage.
Candidate Requirements
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience* in logistics, preferably within interior fit-out, construction, manufacturing, furniture, joinery, or a related industry.
- Experience managing factory-to-site deliveries and project logistics.
- Good knowledge of warehouse operations, transportation planning, and inventory control.
- Experience coordinating drivers, vehicles, loading teams,
suppliers, and project-site personnel.
- Ability to read and understand delivery schedules, material lists, and project requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deliveries simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with ERP or logistics software is an advantage.
- Valid driving licence is preferred.
- Knowledge of local roads, delivery regulations, and site-access procedures is an advantage.
- Good command of English. Knowledge of [insert local language] is an advantage.
Preferred Industry Experience
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:
- Interior fit-out and construction logistics
- Joinery, carpentry, furniture, or metal/glass manufacturing
- Factory dispatch and project-site deliveries
- Handling fragile, customized, or high-value materials
- Coordinating deliveries for multiple projects
- Managing return logistics and installation-related materials
