Job Summary

In this role as Design Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) processes, utilizing CAD Design Skills, particularly Creo software. Your primary focus will be on ensuring efficient and effective product design and development.

Key Purpose of the Job:

- Mechanical Engineering is responsible for developing and designing Electro-Mechanical packaging. To design and develop plastic, machined sheet metal parts, assemblies, and detail drawings, and proficient in CREO develop concepts and cad models as per design intent. Should be able to independently interact with design and cross functional team for design clarifications.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Domain Knowledge: Telecom-Networking / Semiconductor/ Consumer Electronics, High volume manufacturing etc.
- Extensive experience in Concept Design with Top-down assembly approach with skeleton model.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in the area of sheet metal, Plastic and Metal Diecast design), Electro-mechanical product design and good understanding of manufacturing processes
- Understanding on electronic components, IP/NEMA ratings, cooling system & EMI shielding design will be an added advantage.
- New Product Introduction (NPI) experience.
- Experience in GD&T;, Tolerance stack-up Analysis, DFM, DFA, DFMA, Good communication skills, proactive approach and creative thinking in product design
- Hands on experience in using CAD tool CREO or SolidWorks and PDM tools like, Windchill and Agile
- Hands on Experience in Finite Element Analysis and Thermal management will be an added advantage
- Product design (or enclosure design/electro-mechanical system design)

- Knowledge on Industrial Design, Aesthetics, Human Interface Development would be added Advantage
- Positive understanding of Design standards and Telecom & Networking, Servers and Storage, Radio equipment design, Consumer electronics will be an added advantage
- Should be owning and responsible for mechanical product design and need to interact with Customer, internal stake holders from the cross-functional teams
- Interact with testing team for Mechanical design verification
- Work with contract manufacturers for the proto building and design release

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead the design for manufacturing & assembly (dfma) initiatives within the organization
2. Utilize cad design skills to create detailed product designs and engineering drawings
3. Implement and optimize design processes to enhance manufacturing efficiency
4. Collaborate with cross functional teams to support product development from concept to production
5. Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to team members
6. Identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement through dfma analysis
7. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cad design and engineering software

Skill Requirements

1. Proficiency in design for manufacturing & assembly (dfma) principles and methodologies
2. Strong cad design skills with expertise in creo software
3. Solid understanding of product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes
4. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
6. Effective communication and teamwork abilities

Other Requirements

1.Relevant certifications in CAD design and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly are a plus.
