We are looking for a detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman to join our design team engaged in the manufacture of Fire Fighting Vehicles and Dry Chemical Powder (DCP) Units. The role primarily involves preparing accurate tender drawings based on customer/tender specifications along with supporting general assembly and fabrication drawings.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare 2D tender drawings (GA drawings, layout drawings, compartment drawings) strictly as per tender/RFP technical specifications.
- Study tender documents, BOQ, and technical specification sheets to translate requirements into accurate drawings.
- Create drawings for fire vehicle bodies, water/foam tanks, hose reel compartments, pump mounting, DCP cylinder mounting, and equipment layout.
- Prepare detailed fabrication and assembly drawings for shop floor/production use.
- Coordinate with the Design Engineer for dimensional accuracy, chassis specifications, and equipment placement.
- Revise drawings based on client feedback, tender clarifications, corrigendum, or inspection remarks.
- Maintain drawing numbering, revision control, and documentation as per company QMS/ISO standards.
- Prepare drawings for submission with tenders (technical bid) including labeled views, dimensions, and BOM as required.
- Support in preparing drawings for type approval, RTO certification, and third-party inspection (e.g., TAC, OEM/PESO where applicable).




- Coordinate with production/fabrication team to ensure drawings are practically manufacturer.
- Maintain drawing library/database (physical & digital) for future reference and repeat tenders.

Required Skills

- Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (2D GA, layout, fabrication drawings). AutoCAD 3D / Inventor / Solid Works is an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret tender technical specifications and convert them into compliant drawings.
- Good understanding of sheet metal fabrication, chassis mounting, and body-building concepts (preferably from fire vehicle, tanker, or special purpose vehicle background).
- Working knowledge of dimensioning standards, GD&T; basics, and drawing sheet formats (as per company/ISO standards).
- Familiarity with BOM preparation and drawing revision control.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office/Excel for documentation support.

Preferred / Positive to Have

- Prior experience in fire fighting vehicle manufacturing, tanker body building, or special purpose vehicle (SPV) industry.
- Knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., IS 950, TAC norms, or OEM chassis guidelines) related to fire vehicle bodies.

Qualification

- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (Draftsman trade preferred).
- Certification course in AutoCAD will be an added advantage.
