Overview

Gallagher is an active acquirer of entities on a global basis and has a Legal Entity Rationalization (“LER”) program to close most of the acquired entities at the earliest opportunity. The program is coordinated by the Global Finance Change Director and executive sponsorship is via the Global VP – Tax. As the business continues to expand across all continents, Gallagher is also investing in new tools to accelerate the closure of entities and improve the efficiency of its LER program.

How you'll make an impact

Responsibilities:

- Prepare Step Plan for individual companies that identifies (a) last published balance sheet and (b) steps required to close company showing legal and financial consequences of each step
- Complete Document Template for each of the steps in the Step Plan
- Identify assumptions in the Document Template that are not correct and work with internal teams to amend documentation
- Conduct quality assurance activities on Document Templates prepared by other team members




- Initiate due diligence workflow to confirm with internal colleagues that when at point a company will be closed, there will be no assets, no liabilities and no obligations
- Update GEMS (Gallagher’s entity management system) LER module with changes to LER status
- Support the Global Finance Change Director with the development of tools: (a) GEMS LER module, (b) Due Diligence workflow and (c) CLM application that has all Document Templates
- Support Global Finance Change Director with other corporate simplification activities
- Experience in Statutory Accounts / Audit / Preparation and Consolidation of Financial Statements and good working knowledge of accounting standards (US/UK GAAP/IFRS).
- Demonstrate strong project management experience, including planning, tracking deliverables, managing timelines, identifying risks and issues, process improvement, and LER -related
initiatives
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate cross-functionally to meet strict project execution deadlines
- Partner with stakeholders across Divisional teams as role requires coordinating multiple internal colleagues
- Experience of preparing and/or reviewing documents to support changes in corporate structure of a company (eg share issue, capital reduction)
- Proficient computer, financial data, internal consulting, and customer-focused communication and presentation skills




- Ability to build solutions, drive consensus across stakeholders and help them make the right choices
- Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the "big picture"
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a changing, fast-paced environment
- Excellent Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent planning and organizing skills, especially prioritizing multiple projects / tasks
- Must be able to work with the onshore team to understand and take on activities

About you

Qualifications:

- 5 - 10 years post qualifying as a Chartered Accountant; 5-7 years - AM; 7-10 years - DM
- Chartered Accountant
- Project management qualification
