Director – Non-Fiction

Pixel Nation is looking for a Non-Fiction Director to lead the creative execution of a new social-first founder-led series in collaboration with a leading business media brand.

We are looking for a director who can take real stories, real people and real business journeys and turn them into sharp, entertaining and highly watchable content — built for both long-form episodes and short-form social.

Responsibilities

- Develop the creative and visual language of the series.
- Shape real-life stories into strong narratives with compelling hooks, humour and emotional depth.
- Research founders, businesses and their journeys to identify unexpected stories, conflicts and insights.
- Develop interview structures, questions, episode flow and visual treatments.
- Direct founder interviews and on-ground shoots, bringing out authentic and unscripted moments.
- Work closely with the DOP, producers and production team to execute the creative vision.
- Collaborate with editors to shape episodes, archival footage, graphics and social-first cuts.
- Identify strong hooks, moments and stories that can become Reels, Shorts and other social content.
- Maintain consistency in the show's tone, storytelling and visual identity across episodes.

What We're Looking For





- 1–3 years of experience directing non-fiction, documentaries, branded content, interviews or digital shows.
- Strong understanding of storytelling and interview-led formats.
- Excellent sense of pacing, visual storytelling and narrative structure.
- Comfortable directing founders, CEOs, celebrities and real people.
- Strong understanding of Instagram, YouTube and social-first storytelling.
- Ability to find the interesting story behind seemingly ordinary business journeys.
- Someone who understands that good non-fiction is not just about asking questions — it's about getting people to reveal something.
- Experience working with archival footage, graphics and mixed-media storytelling is a plus.
- Knowledge of AI tools and AI-assisted production workflows is a plus.

The Ideal Candidate

Someone who watches documentaries, founder stories, interviews and excellent advertising — and constantly thinks, “How can this story be told better?”

You should be curious, commercially aware, creatively ambitious and comfortable challenging the obvious.

Pay: ₹130,000.00 - ₹170,000.00 per month
