Description

Job Purpose

To support day-to-day API manufacturing and production activities by safely and efficiently carrying out assigned shop-floor operations, material handling, equipment operations, cleaning, and other production-support activities in accordance with GMP, EHS, SOPs, and plant standards.

2. Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

- Support routine day-to-day production activities as per the production plan and instructions from the Shift In-Charge.
- Assist in charging, unloading, filtration, centrifugation, drying, milling, packing, and other API manufacturing activities as applicable.
- Operate production equipment only after required training and authorization.
- Follow approved SOPs, batch manufacturing records, and work instructions.
- Ensure timely completion of assigned production activities to meet shift targets.
- Monitor basic operating parameters and immediately report any abnormality to the concerned supervisor.
- Support smooth transfer of materials between different stages of the manufacturing process.

Material Handling

- Handle raw materials, intermediates, solvents, packing materials, and finished products safely as per defined procedures.
- Ensure proper identification, labelling, and movement of materials.
- Maintain housekeeping around material storage and production areas.
- Assist in loading/unloading of materials using approved handling methods and equipment.

Equipment & Area Maintenance

- Perform routine cleaning of equipment and production areas as per SOPs.
- Support equipment changeover and line clearance activities.
- Report equipment abnormalities, leakages, breakdowns,



or unsafe conditions immediately.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderly conditions in the assigned production area.

GMP & Documentation

- Follow all applicable GMP, GDP, SOP, and data-integrity requirements.
- Complete assigned production records and checklists accurately and on time.
- Ensure no unauthorized alterations or deviations in production documentation.
- Follow gowning, hygiene, and personnel movement requirements in production areas.
- Support batch documentation and other production records as instructed.

EHS & Safety

- Strictly follow all plant safety procedures and permit requirements.
- Use prescribed PPE at all times.
- Follow procedures for handling chemicals, solvents, corrosive materials, compressed gases, and other hazardous substances.
- Immediately report near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, spills, and incidents.
- Participate in safety training, emergency drills, toolbox talks, and other EHS initiatives.
- Maintain secure working practices for self and fellow employees.

Team & Shift Support

- Work effectively with Production, QA, QC, Engineering, EHS, Warehouse, and other supporting functions.
- Maintain proper shift handover and communicate pending activities or abnormalities.
- Provide support during production changeovers, shutdowns,



cleaning activities, and special production requirements.
- Be available for assigned shift duties and additional operational requirements as per applicable company policy and standing orders.

3. Performance Expectations

- Achievement of assigned production activities within planned timelines.
- Compliance with SOPs, GMP, EHS, and quality requirements.
- Zero avoidable safety violations.
- Accurate and timely production documentation.
- Proper utilization and care of equipment and materials.
- Good housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Effective teamwork and cooperation with supervisors and cross-functional teams.
- Minimum production downtime attributable to operational lapses.

4. Qualification & Experience

Qualification:

- Minimum 10th / 12th standard; ITI or relevant technical qualification preferred.

Experience:

- 1–5 years of experience in API, pharmaceutical, chemical, or related manufacturing operations preferred.
- Fresh candidates may be considered for trainee/entry-level positions based on site requirements.
