RADIOLOGY DEPARTMENT IN-CHARGE

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Radiology Department In-Charge to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Radiology Department, ensuring efficient workflow, quality patient care, equipment coordination, staff management, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the Radiology Department.
- Coordinate and allocate duties for Radiographers, Technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure smooth and timely completion of X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and other imaging services as applicable.
- Coordinate with Radiologists, consultants, doctors, nursing, and other departments.
- Monitor patient flow, appointment schedules, reporting workflow, and departmental turnaround time.
- Ensure proper patient identification, preparation, positioning, and safety during procedures.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety, infection control, and patient-safety protocols.
- Monitor the availability and proper functioning of radiology equipment and coordinate with Biomedical/Service teams for maintenance and breakdowns.
- Maintain departmental registers, records, reports, checklists, and documentation.
- Monitor departmental consumables, contrast media, and other required supplies.
- Ensure proper handling and documentation of contrast-related procedures and emergencies.
- Monitor staff performance, attendance, discipline,



and adherence to departmental protocols.
- Train and guide staff regarding procedures, safety practices, and hospital policies.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment as required.
- Identify operational issues and take corrective action in coordination with management.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, audits, NABH requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper handling of patient information.

Requirements

- Qualification: B.Sc / Diploma in Radiology & Medical Imaging Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Radiology / Imaging experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or department in-charge experience is preferred.
- Solid knowledge of hospital radiology operations and workflow.
- Good understanding of radiation safety and quality-control procedures.
- Experience in handling radiology equipment, staff coordination, and departmental documentation.
- Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a busy hospital environment and work effectively with doctors and multidisciplinary teams.
- Candidates with experience in NABH-accredited hospitals will be preferred.
