Job Summary

The Echo Technologist is responsible for performing echocardiography procedures, assisting cardiologists in diagnostic evaluations, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring the proper functioning and quality of echocardiography equipment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

- Perform 2D Echocardiography, M-Mode, Doppler and Colour Doppler studies as per physician instructions.
- Prepare patients for echocardiography procedures and explain the procedure appropriately.
- Obtain high-quality echocardiographic images and Doppler measurements for interpretation by the cardiologist.
- Assist in TTE (Transthoracic Echocardiography) and, where appropriately trained and authorized, assist with TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography).
- Perform measurements and calculations according to departmental protocols.
- Identify and promptly communicate any significant or urgent findings to the concerned cardiologist as per hospital protocol.
- Maintain accurate patient records, reports, worksheets, and investigation documentation.




- Ensure proper identification and positioning of patients before the procedure.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and infection-control standards in the echo room.
- Check, operate, and perform routine care of echocardiography machines and accessories.
- Report equipment malfunction or technical issues to the concerned department.
- Coordinate with cardiologists, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospital policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable NABH, infection-control, biomedical safety, and departmental protocols.
- Maintain daily records of procedures performed and support departmental quality initiatives
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience (Freshers welcome)
