Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and responsible Fabrication Engineer to supervise and coordinate fabrication activities for heavy steel structures and industrial projects. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring fabrication work is completed safely, accurately, and according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and shop drawings.
- Plan and supervise daily fabrication activities according to project requirements.
- Coordinate cutting, fit-up, welding, grinding, drilling, assembly, and finishing activities.
- Monitor fabrication work to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain fabrication plans, work schedules, material requirements, and production reports.
- Coordinate with production, quality, planning, procurement, and site teams.
- Check dimensions, alignment, level, fit-up, and overall quality of fabricated components.
- Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machinery, tools, and materials.
- Monitor welding and fabrication activities as per approved WPS/PQR and quality requirements, where applicable.
- Coordinate with QC/QA teams for inspection and rectification of fabrication defects.
- Identify fabrication issues and provide practical engineering solutions.
- Ensure minimum material wastage and efficient fabrication methods.
- Maintain daily progress reports and documentation.




- Ensure all fabrication activities follow safety procedures and company standards.
- Supervise subcontractors and fabrication workers when required.
- Support project/site teams during erection, installation, modification, and commissioning activities when required.

Required Qualifications

- Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in steel fabrication / structural fabrication / industrial projects.
- Good knowledge of fabrication processes and workshop practices.
- Ability to read and understand AutoCAD drawings and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of welding processes such as SMAW, GMAW/MIG, FCAW, and GTAW/TIG is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of MS/SS structural fabrication and heavy steel fabrication.
- Good knowledge of measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, measuring tape, spirit level, and other inspection tools.
- Good communication, coordination, and team-management skills.

Preferred Skills

- AutoCAD knowledge.
- Knowledge of fabrication estimation and material planning.
- Knowledge of BOM, MTO, cutting plans, and fabrication sequences.
- Understanding of welding and inspection requirements.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Ability to work under project deadlines.
