We're commissioning a library of original mechanical assembly models and are looking for independent contractors to join the team to build them.

The engagement

- One-month assignment to start, extended month by month based on quality and throughput
- Target of roughly about 5 mechanical assemblies per working day
- Remote
- Contractors who deliver consistently are extended for as long as volume lasts

The work

- Small mechanical assemblies — 8 to 10 parts each, single level, no sub-assemblies
- Each deliverable: native file with feature history intact, STEP AP214 export, isometric render, short part list

What you need

- Proficient in FreeCAD or Fusion 360 (either is fine — we don't require both)
- Solid mechanical fundamentals: fits and clearances, fasteners, bearings, springs, basic kinematics
- Fully constrained assemblies, clean modelling history, sensible part naming, materials assigned




- All geometry modelled by you from scratch. Nothing downloaded from McMaster-Carr, GrabCAD, TraceParts, manufacturer sites or any CAD library. No AI-generated geometry. Standard fasteners generated from CAD package's own library and declared as such
- Able to work from a one-line brief and make sensible design decisions independently

Nice to have

- Mechanical design, electromechanical design, Sheet metal, plastic part design, or GD&T;
- Background in product design, machine design or manufacturing
