The Role

Help build and maintain Varanchi's ERP — the custom platform that runs the business, built as a TypeScript ecosystem of internal apps, a web dashboard, and a backend. You'll work on top of a system that's already established, with clear patterns and documentation to follow.

How We Work

Our codebase is already built and well-documented, with clear conventions for how new features and tools are added. This is an AI-first role — modern AI coding tools are your primary way of building here, not an add-on, so strong prompting and knowing how to drive these tools well matters as much as writing code by hand.

You'll take requirements from our operations and systems lead and own what you build end-to-end, with asenior engineer reviewing periodically. This is an independent role — a fit if you like ownership, less so if you want a senior looking over your shoulder daily.

Our Stack

- Language: TypeScript, end to end
- Backend: Node.js + Fastify, SQLite database
- Web dashboard: React (Vite), hosted on Cloudflare
- Desktop apps: Electron + React
- Infrastructure: Linux (DigitalOcean), GitHub Actions for CI/CD
- Integrations: Shopify, Zoho, Razorpay, DTDC, Google APIs

What You'll Do

- Build recent features, small tools, and UI changes by following our existing patterns
- Fix bugs and make improvements across the dashboard and apps
- Use AI coding tools effectively — prompt well, iterate, and check the output before it goes anywhere
- Test your changes and confirm they actually work




- Keep documentation updated as you go

Must-Have

- ~1–2 years building web applications (strong personal/portfolio projects count)
- Proficient at prompting and driving AI coding tools — Claude Code, GPT, Copilot and agentic assistants, including their skills, custom instructions, and context features. This is your primary way of building and the core skill for the role.
- You consistently get good results from AI tools and can tell when the output is off before it ships
- Can read TypeScript/JavaScript and React well enough to follow existing code, make changes, andunderstand what the AI produces (reading matters more than writing from scratch here)
- Basic understanding of how a web app fits together — frontend, backend/API, database
- Happy to work with our existing patterns — and able to make a good case when a fresh approach is genuinely better
- Clear communication, documentation of the process

Nice-to-Have (learnable)

- Node.js / REST APIs and basic SQL
- React or Electron experience
- Git / GitHub workflow
- Any exposure to Shopify, Zoho, or retail/e-commerce systems
- A CS background or self-taught with things you've actually shipped — either is fine

How We'll Assess

A short take-home project: a small, real task done the way you'd actually work. We care as much about how you approach the work as about the result itself.

This is a full time remote work
