Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic School Librarian to manage the school library, support students and teachers in accessing learning resources, and promote a strong culture of reading, research, and independent learning.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library and resource centre.
- Develop and maintain an organised collection of books, periodicals, digital resources, and educational materials.
- Assist students and teachers in book selection, research, reference services, and information retrieval.
- Promote reading habits, library usage, and literacy programmes among students.
- Conduct library orientation and activities for different age groups.
- Maintain library records, cataloguing, classification, circulation, and inventory.
- Use library management software to track issue, return, renewal, and overdue books.
- Support teachers with curriculum-related resources and research materials.
- Organise book fairs, reading programmes, author interactions, library events, and literacy activities.
- Ensure the library is welcoming, safe, quiet, and conducive to learning.
- Monitor library resources and recommend recent books and digital learning resources.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare library reports and usage statistics.
- Encourage students to develop information literacy, research skills, and responsible use of digital resources.
- Coordinate with teachers, coordinators, and school leadership to support academic requirements.





Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science / Library and Information Science (BLIS / MLIS).
- Relevant experience in a school, international school, CBSE, ICSE, IB, Cambridge, or educational institution is preferred.
- Good communication, organisational, interpersonal, and IT skills.
- Knowledge of library management systems and digital library resources.
