We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Publication Book Designer with a strong eye for illustration, typography, composition, and visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging book designs, illustrations, character visuals, layouts, and supporting creative assets while maintaining consistency with the publication’s concept, audience, and visual language.

The role requires a balance of strong design fundamentals, creative thinking, storytelling ability, and familiarity with AI-powered creative tools.

Key Responsibilities

- Design visually engaging book covers, interiors, layouts, chapter openers, illustrations, and supporting publication assets.
- Create original illustrations, characters, visual concepts, and creative assets for books and storytelling projects.
- Develop expressive and memorable character designs with strong visual personalities.
- Create storyboards and visual narratives for books, campaigns, animations, presentations, and storytelling projects.
- Translate manuscripts, creative briefs, concepts, and ideas into engaging visual solutions.
- Develop visual styles and design systems that support the theme, tone, audience, and identity of each publication.
- Apply strong knowledge of typography, composition, grids, hierarchy, color, and visual storytelling to book layouts.
- Use AI tools and generative AI workflows for ideation, concept development, visual references, experimentation, and creative production.
- Create illustrations and visual assets that align with brand identity, publication guidelines, and established visual language.
- Develop supporting creative assets for branding, social media, marketing campaigns, digital content, and presentations when required.
- Collaborate with art directors, editors, writers, illustrators, designers, marketing teams,



and other creative professionals.
- Explore new illustration styles, design techniques, publishing trends, and emerging creative technologies.
- Maintain consistency, quality, accuracy, and attention to detail across all book and publication deliverables.
- Prepare artwork and layouts for print and digital publishing while following production specifications.
- Present design concepts clearly and confidently and incorporate feedback through the revision process.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting quality standards and deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 2+ years of professional experience in publication design, book design, illustration, visual design, or a related creative field.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating book design, illustration, character design, and visual storytelling.
- Strong understanding of editorial layouts, typography, composition, grids, and visual hierarchy.
- Good knowledge of composition, perspective, color theory, lighting, and visual narrative.
- Strong understanding of storyboarding and visual storytelling.
- Experience creating visuals that follow brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
- Proficiency in tools such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, Figma, or equivalent design software.
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered creative and image-generation tools and an understanding of AI-assisted creative workflows.




- Strong conceptual and creative thinking with the ability to turn ideas into compelling visual outcomes.
- Ability to adapt to different illustration styles, publication genres, audiences, and brand aesthetics.
- Valuable understanding of print production and preparation of print-ready files.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and a high standard of visual quality.

Preferred Skills

- Experience designing children's books, illustrated books, educational publications, storybooks, or other content-driven publications.
- Knowledge of digital publishing formats such as eBooks and EPUB.
- Experience working with editors, authors, publishers, and printing or production teams.
- Ability to create both traditional and digital illustration styles.
- Familiarity with motion graphics, animation, or basic video/storytelling workflows is a plus.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can combine design thinking, illustration, storytelling, and technology to create publications that are visually distinctive and engaging. A strong sense of visual culture, curiosity to experiment, and the ability to transform ideas into polished creative work will be highly valued.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
