Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchaser to manage sourcing, procurement, vendor relationships, quality, and inventory of textile products.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement Planning & Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and finalize suppliers and mills.
- Develop solid vendor relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate rates, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Maintain and periodically review the Approved Vendor List (AVL).

2. Material Sourcing & Market Research

- Stay updated on the latest fabric trends, quality innovations, blends, and seasonal collections.
- Source fabrics such as cotton, polyester blends, Giza cotton, linen blends, and other suitable materials.
- Monitor competitor products to benchmark quality and pricing.

3. Purchase Order Management

- Raise purchase orders based on inventory requirements, sales forecasts, and store requirements.
- Ensure accurate product specifications, including fabric composition, GSM, width, colour, and pattern.
- Track orders and resolve delivery delays or discrepancies.

4. Inventory & Stock Control

- Maintain optimum stock levels across outlets and warehouses.
- Coordinate with warehouse and retail teams for timely replenishment.
- Minimize excess stock and dead inventory through effective purchase planning.

5. Quality Assurance

- Coordinate with the QC team for inspection of incoming fabric and product lots.




- Ensure quality standards related to shrinkage, colour fastness, weave quality, and fabric specifications.
- Resolve quality issues with suppliers and arrange replacements or credit notes.

6. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain purchase records, vendor details, contracts, and delivery schedules.
- Prepare cost analysis, vendor performance reports, and monthly procurement reports.
- Ensure proper documentation for internal audits and GST compliance, where applicable.

7. Cross-functional Coordination

- Coordinate with design, merchandising, warehouse, and retail teams for product planning.
- Ensure timely availability of products for new launches and promotional activities.
- Participate in textile exhibitions and vendor meets to identify new sourcing opportunities.

Skills & Qualifications

- Textile experience is mandatory.
- 3–5 years of experience in textile purchasing.
- Strong knowledge of textiles, fabrics, sarees, garments, and apparel.
- Good knowledge of textile markets and suppliers.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Good communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Experience in retail textile purchasing is preferred.
- Diploma/Degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Merchandising, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
