ABOUT THE ROLE

F5 Global Talent is hiring a Senior Concrete Estimator to independently price commercial concrete projects for a U.S.-based contractor.

You'll own estimates from drawings through final bid — reviewing architectural and structural plans, performing quantity takeoffs, pricing labor, materials, equipment and subcontractors, identifying scope gaps, preparing bid summaries, and presenting your estimate clearly to customers and general contractors.

This is a senior estimating role, not a takeoff-only position. You'll be expected to make independent estimating decisions, understand how concrete work is actually built, and explain your pricing assumptions without relying on another estimator to correct the estimate afterward.

The role covers commercial concrete scopes such as foundations, footings, slabs-on-grade, grade beams, structural walls, elevated concrete, sidewalks, paving, curbs and gutters, excavation, reinforcement, formwork, and related site concrete.

This is a full time, remote role working U.S. Central Time business hours.

IMPORTANT: We are looking for someone with senior-level commercial concrete estimating experience, including independent pricing decisions — not someone whose background is limited to quantity takeoffs.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Review architectural and structural drawings independently

• Perform detailed concrete quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift or comparable software

• Build complete estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and project-specific costs

• Price foundations, footings, slabs, walls, elevated concrete, reinforcement, formwork, excavation, site concrete, and related scopes

• Prepare bid summaries with inclusions, exclusions, assumptions, alternates, and clarifications

• Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and risks in bid documents before they become problems

• Communicate directly with customers, general contractors, and preconstruction teams

• Prepare and send RFIs when drawings or specifications are unclear





• Track addenda and drawing revisions throughout the estimating process

• Maintain organized estimate files with traceable quantities and pricing

• Present and explain estimates clearly during bid reviews

• Support project handoff to the operations team after award

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Senior-level commercial concrete estimating experience

• Strong independent pricing and estimating judgment

• U.S. construction project estimating experience

• Strong architectural and structural drawing interpretation

• Hands-on knowledge of commercial concrete construction

• Experience with foundations, footings, slabs-on-grade, walls, elevated concrete, reinforcing steel, formwork, excavation, paving, curbs, and gutters

• Strong quantity takeoff skills

• PlanSwift or comparable digital takeoff software experience

• Robust Microsoft Excel estimating skills

• Experience preparing bid summaries, exclusions, assumptions, alternates, and clarifications

• Strong customer and general-contractor communication skills

• Experience preparing RFIs and resolving unclear scope

• Excellent written and spoken English

• Robust attention to detail and drawing-revision tracking

• Availability to work full-time U.S. Central Time business hours

NICE TO HAVE

• Civil or site concrete estimating experience

• Texas commercial construction experience

• Bluebeam, PlanHub, ConstructConnect, or BuildingConnected experience

• Knowledge of concrete productivity and sequencing

• Experience comparing estimated costs against actual project costs

• Experience working directly with general contractors, owners, or preconstruction teams

• Experience with company owners or senior construction leadership
