1.Production Management

- Plan, organize, and control daily/monthly injection moulding production.
- Achieve production targets as per customer and management requirements.
- Prepare machine-wise and model-wise production plans.
- Monitor machine utilization, cycle time, output, rejection, and downtime.
- Ensure timely availability of moulds, raw materials, colour masterbatch, and packing materials.
- Coordinate with Assembly, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning departments.

2. Injection Moulding Process

- Handle injection moulding machines of different capacities and makes.
- Set and optimize machine parameters such as:
- Temperature
- Injection pressure
- Holding pressure
- Injection speed
- Cooling time
- Cycle time
- Screw RPM and back pressure
- Ensure proper mould setting, trial, and production start-up.
- Reduce cycle time without affecting product quality.
- Identify and resolve moulding defects such as short moulding, sink marks, flash, warpage, burn marks, colour variation, and black spots.

3. Quality Control

- Ensure production is carried out according to approved specifications and samples.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department for first-piece approval and process inspection.
- Control rejection, rework, and material wastage.
- Conduct root-cause analysis for repeated quality problems.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.

4. Manpower Management

- Manage operators, setters, technicians, supervisors, and helpers.
- Allocate manpower based on production requirements.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and performance.
- Train employees on machine operation, process parameters, quality, and safety.
- Evaluate manpower requirements and recommend recruitment when necessary.

Machine & Maintenance Coordination

- Monitor the condition and performance of all injection moulding machines.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Minimize machine breakdown and production downtime.
- Maintain machine utilization and downtime records.
- Coordinate for installation, commissioning, and trial of new machines.

6. Mould Management

- Coordinate mould installation, setting, trial, and production.
- Maintain mould-wise production and maintenance records.
- Ensure moulds are properly cleaned, lubricated, and stored after production.
- Coordinate with mould vendors for mould modification and repair.
- Monitor mould life and recurring mould-related defects.

7. Raw Material & Cost Control

- Monitor consumption of PP, ABS, HIPS, PVC and other plastics as applicable.
- Control material wastage, runner/regrind consumption, and rejection.
- Verify material requirements against production plans.
- Coordinate with Stores and Procurement for material availability.
- Identify opportunities to reduce production cost.

8. Vendor Management

- Coordinate with machine, mould, auxiliary equipment, and service vendors.
- Obtain quotations and negotiate technical/commercial terms where assigned.
- Follow up on mould repairs, machine breakdown support, spare parts, and technical services.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality,



delivery, service, and cost.

9. Safety & Compliance

- Ensure all injection moulding machines are operated safely.
- Ensure machine guards, emergency stops, safety interlocks, and PPE requirements are maintained.
- Conduct regular safety inspections.
- Ensure employees follow company safety procedures.
- Report and investigate workplace incidents and implement corrective actions.

10. MIS & Reporting

Prepare and submit regular reports covering:

- Production quantity
- Machine utilization
- Rejection percentage
- Material consumption
- Material wastage
- Machine downtime
- Mould downtime
- Cycle time
- Manpower productivity
- Maintenance status
- Production plan vs. actual
- Cost-saving initiatives

11. Continuous Improvement

- Improve productivity and machine efficiency.
- Reduce rejection and material wastage.
- Implement 5S, Kaizen, and other improvement activities.
- Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks.
- Standardize successful moulding parameters and processes.
- Improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).

12. Management Responsibilities

- Report production performance directly to senior management/Plant Head/General Manager as applicable.
- Participate in production review meetings.
- Prepare capacity planning for recent products and additional machines.
- Support new product development and mould trials.
- Ensure production commitments are achieved without compromising quality and safety.
