Role Description The Assistant Professor (Mechanical Engineering) will be responsible for delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering through lectures, tutorials, and laboratory sessions. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans, developing instructional materials, assessing student performance, and providing academic mentoring and guidance. The role involves supervising student projects, supporting curriculum development, participating in departmental meetings, and contributing to academic and co-curricular activities. The Assistant Professor is also expected to engage in research, scholarly activities,
and industry collaboration relevant to Mechanical Engineering. This is a full-time, on-site role based at CT Group of Institutions in Jalandhar.
Qualifications
- Postgraduate degree (M.E./M.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution; Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred.
- Solid foundation in core Mechanical Engineering areas such as thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, manufacturing, and design.
- Demonstrated ability to teach at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, with skills in course planning, classroom instruction, and student evaluation.
- Experience in laboratory management, experiment design, and safe operation of mechanical engineering equipment and tools.
- Research aptitude with interest in publishing in reputed journals, presenting at conferences, and developing research or consultancy projects.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools (e.g., CAD/CAE, simulation and analysis software) and willingness to integrate technology into teaching.
- Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic environment.
- Commitment to student-centric teaching, academic integrity, continuous professional development, and adherence to institutional and regulatory norms (e.g., AICTE/UGC guidelines).
