Process Analyst - Workflow Mapping & Transformation

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Process Analyst to support a major transformation programme by analysing existing business processes, identifying inefficiencies and gaps, and helping define improved future-state workflows.

The role will involve working across multiple business teams to understand how work is actually performed today, particularly where processes may be undocumented, inconsistent or interpreted differently across functions.

You will play a key role in helping the organisation identify opportunities for process improvement, standardisation, automation and AI-enabled transformation.

Key Responsibilities

- Map end-to-end business processes and workflows across multiple teams and functions.
- Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders to understand current ways of working.
- Document current-state and future-state processes using explicit process maps and supporting analysis.
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, duplication, bottlenecks, control weaknesses and hand-off issues.
- Analyse differences between documented processes and actual operational practice.
- Resolve conflicting stakeholder views and build agreement around the true current state.
- Define improved future-state processes and support stakeholder alignment around proposed changes.
- Identify opportunities for workflow redesign, automation, AI and process standardisation.
- Carry out gap analysis between current capabilities and required future-state processes.
- Produce clear recommendations, process documentation and supporting artefacts for transformation initiatives.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, technology teams and operational stakeholders.




- Support the transition from process analysis into implementation and business change.

Required Experience

- Strong experience in a Process Analyst, Business Process Analyst or process-focused Business Analyst role.
- Proven experience mapping complex end-to-end business processes.
- Strong capability in current-state and future-state process mapping.
- Experience conducting gap analysis and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience working across multiple business functions and stakeholder groups.
- Ability to challenge assumptions and establish how processes operate in practice rather than relying solely on documented procedures.
- Experience defining and documenting business workflows, hand-offs, dependencies and control points.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

- Experience within a regulated, clinical, pharmaceutical, healthcare or similarly controlled environment.
- Experience supporting digital transformation, automation or AI initiatives.
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma or BPM.
- Experience with process mapping tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio, ARIS or similar.
- Experience working with technology teams to translate process improvement opportunities into delivery requirements.

Profile

We are looking for someone who is able to get underneath how a process really works, rather than simply documenting what stakeholders say happens.

You should be comfortable working through ambiguity, conflicting stakeholder views and poorly documented processes, and be able to turn that analysis into clear recommendations for process improvement, automation and transformation.
