Senior Project Manager - AI & Transformation

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex strategic and technology-enabled transformation initiatives within a highly regulated environment.

This role requires more than traditional project coordination. You will be expected to take ownership of complex programmes with multiple business and technology dependencies, operate confidently with senior stakeholders, manage ambiguity and changing priorities, and ensure projects deliver measurable business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have experience delivering transformation, digital, data or AI-related initiatives and will be comfortable working within regulated, clinical or highly controlled environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead complex cross-functional projects from initiation and requirements gathering through to implementation and transition.
- Manage delivery across multiple business, technology and third-party stakeholders.
- Establish appropriate project governance, RAID management, reporting and decision-making structures.
- Identify and actively manage dependencies, risks, issues and competing priorities.
- Engage confidently with senior sponsors and stakeholders, including challenging requirements or decisions where they create delivery risk.
- Lead projects where requirements, technology or the final solution may initially be uncertain or evolving.
- Translate strategic objectives into clear delivery plans, milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure appropriate controls, documentation and traceability are maintained within regulated or highly controlled environments.
- Work closely with business, technical, data and quality teams to ensure solutions are compliant and audit-ready.
- Define and track business outcomes, benefits,



ROI and leading indicators of project success.
- Drive projects towards intended outcomes rather than simply managing timelines and activity.

Required Experience

- Strong track record delivering complex projects or programmes within large organisations.
- Experience managing significant cross-functional dependencies and senior stakeholder groups.
- Demonstrable experience delivering strategic transformation, digital, technology, data or AI-related initiatives.
- Experience operating in a regulated, clinical or highly controlled environment.
- Solid understanding of project governance, risk management, change control and delivery assurance.
- Experience managing projects where requirements or solutions evolve throughout delivery.
- Proven ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively and influence decision-making.
- Experience taking projects from requirements gathering through implementation.
- Strong commercial and business focus, with experience measuring project outcomes, benefits or ROI.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.

Desirable

- Experience delivering AI, automation, data or emerging technology initiatives.
- Life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceutical or other regulated-industry experience.
- Experience working with validated systems or formal compliance / quality frameworks.
- Programme-level delivery experience across multiple interconnected workstreams.
- Relevant Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent.

Profile

We are looking for a strong, strategic Project Manager rather than a purely administrative PM. You should be comfortable stepping into complex environments, creating structure where there is ambiguity, challenging stakeholders when required and maintaining momentum while ensuring governance and compliance are not compromised.
