ROI Analyst - Business Case & Value Realisation

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ROI Analyst to support strategic transformation and technology initiatives by developing robust business cases, ROI models and value frameworks.

The role will focus on determining the financial and operational value of proposed solutions, often in environments where data is incomplete, ownership is unclear, or benefits are difficult to quantify.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders, business teams and project leads to establish credible baselines, validate assumptions and build evidence-based cases for investment.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop business cases and ROI models for transformation, technology, automation and AI initiatives.
- Establish appropriate financial, operational and strategic measures of value.
- Gather and validate data from multiple business functions and stakeholder groups.
- Develop credible assumptions and proxies where data is incomplete or unavailable.
- Establish current-state baselines against which future benefits can be measured.
- Quantify both direct and indirect benefits, including:
- Cost savings and cost avoidance.
- Productivity and efficiency improvements.
- Reduced operational or compliance risk.
- Improved quality and accuracy.
- Faster decision-making and cycle times.
- Improved user or customer experience.

- Conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis to test key assumptions.
- Identify costs, dependencies, risks and potential barriers to benefits realisation.
- Present ROI models and investment cases clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Respond to challenge and scrutiny of assumptions, calculations and projected benefits.
- Define KPIs and leading indicators to measure whether expected value is being achieved following implementation.




- Support ongoing benefits tracking and value realisation throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Experience

- Strong experience developing business cases, ROI models, cost-benefit analysis or benefits realisation frameworks.
- Strong quantitative and analytical capability.
- Experience working with incomplete, fragmented or difficult-to-access data.
- Ability to establish credible baselines and develop defensible assumptions.
- Experience quantifying both financial and non-financial benefits.
- Strong Excel and financial modelling capability.
- Experience analysing costs, perks, payback periods and investment scenarios.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with senior leadership.
- Ability to challenge assumptions constructively and defend analytical conclusions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear business recommendations.

Desirable

- Experience supporting digital transformation, automation, data or AI initiatives.
- Experience within pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, clinical operations or another regulated environment.
- Experience developing value frameworks where benefits are difficult to measure directly.
- Knowledge of benefits realisation and portfolio / programme management methodologies.
- Experience working with Finance, Strategy, Transformation or PMO functions.
- Familiarity with financial measures such as ROI, NPV, IRR, payback period and total cost of ownership.

Profile

We are looking for someone who can turn imperfect information into a credible, evidence-based investment case.

You should be comfortable challenging assumptions, chasing down difficult-to-obtain information and working with senior stakeholders to establish what value actually looks like. The role requires someone who can go beyond straightforward financial modelling and credibly quantify operational, strategic, quality and risk-related benefits.
