Department: Labour Room / Obstetrics & Gynaecology
Job Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to antenatal, intranatal and postnatal mothers.
- Assist doctors during normal deliveries and caesarean sections.
- Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate.
- Prepare the labour room, equipment and delivery instruments.
- Assist in labour monitoring and maintain accurate nursing records.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the doctor.
- Assist in emergency obstetric procedures when required.
- Provide immediate care to newborns and assist with neonatal resuscitation.
- Maintain infection control and follow hospital protocols.
- Ensure proper documentation and handover of patient care.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to mothers and their families.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety and readiness of the labour room.
Qualifications
- GNM / BSc Nursing
- KNMC registration
- Minimum 1 year Labour room experience required
