About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Design Engineer – Fire & Gas/ Fire Alarm Systems to join our Ahmedabad team. The role involves designing Fire alarm and Fire & Gas systems for Oil & Gas, Industrial and Energy Projects ensuring compliance with international codes and client requirements. The position offers exposure to large-scale projects across India and the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop Fire & Gas (F&G;) system designs including gas detector layouts, flame/heat detector placement, and cause & effect matrix for industrial facilities.
- Perform F&G; detector coverage and spacing calculations based on project requirements and applicable standards.
- Develop Shop drawings, Schematic drawings, Datasheets, GA drawings, and P&IDs; for Fire Alarm and F&G; systems.
- Prepare Bill of Quantities (BOQ), material take-offs, and technical specifications for tendering and procurement.
- Review project specifications, codes, and client requirements to ensure designs meet NFPA, IS codes, and other applicable international/local standards.
- Review vendor documents, technical catalogues, datasheets, drawings, calculations and compliance documents.
- Prepare technical submittals, material approval requests, and datasheets for fire alarm and F&G; equipment
- Coordinate with project managers, project engineers, site teams, and consultants in the UAE and India offices for design clarifications and approvals




- Support tendering and estimation teams with technical design inputs and cost estimates.
- Incorporate feedback from consultants/clients and revise drawings and calculations accordingly.
- Ensure design documentation is accurate, complete, and delivered within project timelines.
- Stay updated on relevant codes, standards, and new technologies in fire & gas and fire alarm system design.

Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical / Instrumentation/ Electronics or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in fire alarm and/or fire & gas system design within oil & gas, energy or industrial sectors
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, IS codes, and international fire protection design standards
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and F&G; Mapping Study Software.
- Experience preparing GA drawings, schematic drawings, Loop drawings and P&IDs.;
- Good understanding of fire & gas detection systems, cause & effect philosophy, and control panel interfacing.
- Strong analytical, technical documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross border teams (India–UAE)
- Prior experience with international projects/clients is an advantage
- Relevant certifications (NFPA/CFPS or similar) will be an added advantage
