Role Summary

We are embarking on a strategic migration of our data infrastructure from an on-premise data warehouse to a up-to-date, Amazon S3-based cloud data warehouse. As our Data Consumer Analyst, you will be the person who maps the full landscape of who uses our data and how. You will discover, document, and analyze every report, downstream application, BI pipeline, and business team that depends on the existing warehouse - ensuring a seamless, zero disruption migration. This is a high-visibility role that bridges deep technical analysis with cross functional coordination, directly safeguarding business continuity throughout the transition.

Key Responsibilities

Discover and inventory all on-premise data consumers, including reports, downstream applications, BI pipelines, and business teams.

Map end-to-end data lineage from source systems through transformations to consumption points.

Validate actual data usage patterns to distinguish active dependencies from obsolete ones, informing migration and decommissioning decisions.

Analyze query and access logs to quantify usage frequency, criticality, and performance requirements.

Coordinate across technical and business teams to confirm requirements, resolve ambiguities, and prioritize migration waves.

Document findings in clear, actionable artifacts (dependency maps, consumer catalogs, risk registers) for engineering and stakeholder teams.

Automate discovery and analysis workflows to accelerate the mapping process and improve accuracy.

Support migration planning by flagging risks, gaps, and impact areas before cutover.

Required Qualifications

Proven experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and complex data migration projects.

Strong understanding of both RDBMS and NoSQL databases, with advanced SQL querying skills.





Hands-on proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (Python preferred).

Practical cloud platform experience, with an emphasis on Amazon S3.

Demonstrated hands-on automation experience (scripting, pipelines, or tooling).

Exceptional communication, problem-solving attitude, and analytical aptitude to interface effectively with diverse technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications (Pluses)

Experience building or leveraging AI agents for workflow automation.

Active AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
