Role Overview

The Business Data Migration Expert (BDME) Business Functional Consultant delivers business-side data migration activities across global, deployment, and country-specific project streams. Operating within an above-country deployment data migration team, this role bridges business operations and IT technical execution across Commercial and Procurement data domains. The consultant ensures that business requirements, local country specificities, and data readiness governance are integrated across all migration milestones.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute business-side data migration activities (excluding purely technical migration) in direct alignment with deployment schedules, milestones, and governance frameworks.

- Coordinate, track, and execute data cleansing activities across assigned data objects to meet defined timelines and quality thresholds.

- Coordinate and complete the data collection process for manual or construction data objects, ensuring data correctness and completeness.

- Partner with IT and technical counterparts to define, validate, and maintain legacy-to-target field and value mappings.

- Create and maintain master data lists for assigned Commercial and Procurement objects.

- Provide detailed functional and business process insights to technical teams to support data extraction, transformation, and legacy conversion rules.

- Monitor data readiness across the migration lifecycle through ongoing quality checks, validation against data standards, and defect remediation.





- Verify that in-scope data is fit for purpose for target business operations in alignment with global and local country stakeholders.

- Execute manual (type-in) data loads into target systems where automated scripts do not apply, following access control and audit standards.

- Execute data verification scripts, document discrepancies and observations, and provide formal validation approvals.

- Support end-to-end testing phases (including mock loads, System Integration Testing [SIT], and User Acceptance Testing [UAT]), leading defect triage for Commercial and Procurement data.

- Drive cutover execution from a functional data standpoint, including final data loads, verification checks, and post-load reconciliation.

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Experience: 5+ years of experience working in country-level, regional, or global roles, with demonstrated background in multi-country or multi-entity ERP implementations.

- ERP Experience: Proven hands-on ERP project implementation and business-side data migration experience, with direct ownership of data quality, validation, and sign-offs.

- Domain Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Commercial and Procurement business processes (such as vendor management, purchasing documents, purchase orders, pricing, and conditions) along with their core data dependencies.

- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet modeling tools for data analysis, cleansing, value mapping, and reconciliation.

- Stakeholder Management: Proven track record running workshops, tracking deliverables against project dependencies, and escalating risks in a structured project governance environment.

- Communication: Fluency in English (written and verbal) for day-to-day global project
